Wealth Management

Wealth Management

Investing in the market is a tricky process. The performance of a stock will change as time goes on. If your goal is to prevent losses, which we believe should be your core goal in retirement, you need to do your research and invest in the right stocks at the right times. In order to do this, it would be most advantageous to work with a financial advisor with an “active” approach to money management. We may be able to help you with this.

Active Vs. Passive
Money Management

“Active” money management differs from “passive” management. If your investments are being managed passively, it means there isn’t someone observing and keeping up with them. This might work fine over a long period, but it comes with higher risk. Active money management, on the other hand, involves a financial advisor giving you advice on how to invest, in order to hopefully prevent losses and get you more success in the long run.

Annual "Financial Checkups"

We offer annual meetings with clients, in order to take a comprehensive look at their finances, the success of their current retirement strategy, and how it can be improved. Your situation and needs can change over time, so the answer may not be as simple as selling you something and walking away. That’s why Compass Financial takes the time to keep up with clients and make sure everything is running smoothly. This sets Compass Financial apart from other firms like us.

How do you know your current retirement plan is still working for you? Many different factors can affect your investments over the course of a year. However, we can help you stay on track during our annual meetings with you. Some changes that can occur include:

  • Your asset allocation may be out of balance
  • Your portfolio may not be as diversified as you think
  • Your financial goals may have changed
  • Or, your life situation could’ve unexpectedly changed
  • Laws also change: For example, changes in tax law happen frequently
